Matric College Entry Requirements

Below are the entry requirements for each of the following courses we offer:

Matric Courses

We have a total of three (3) Matric Courses. The entry requirements for each Matric Course are tabulated below.

Adult Matric

  • Grade 9, Grade 9 Equivalent (ABET Level 4), or higher qualification
  • Be 21 years old or older
  • Proficiency in, the English language

Matric Rewrite

  • Matric Certificate (incomplete result, failed result, or passed result)
  • Be older than 21
  • The ability to do your course in English 

Matric Upgrade

  • Matric Certificate (failed or passed result)
  • Be 21 years old or older
  • The ability to complete your course in English 

Is There An Age Limit To Apply For An Adult Matric Course?

No, there is no age limit to apply for an Adult Matric Course. At Matric College, we believe that it is never too late to get your Matric and that there is no age to stop seeking knowledge.

You can register for an Adult Matric Course with us whether you are 21 or 61. We help people of all ages get their Matric.

Which College Can I Complete My Matric At?

You can complete your Matric at Matric College. We will provide you with study material and other exam resources needed to study for your Matric exams.

Once you are confident that you are well-prepared, we will assist you in registering for the final exam with the Department of Basic Education.

Where Can I Register For Matric 2023?

You can register for Matric in 2023 at Matric College. 

We deliver study material to our students’ doors, and we provide them with other exam resources as well as tutors and study groups. We do this to ensure that they have all the support that they need in order to pass Matric well.

When Can I Apply For Matric Rewrite 2023?

You can apply for a Matric Rewrite Course today!

At Matric College, our applications are open all year round. You will be able to register for any of our courses at any time of the year.

While this is the case, you will only be able to write your final Matric Exam during the following exam periods:

  • May/June
  • October/November

What Is The Difference Between A Matric Rewrite And A Matric Upgrade?

Below, we have listed the differences between a Matric Rewrite and a Matric Upgrade.

Matric Rewrite

Matric Upgrade

  • You need to be 21 or older
  • You will write the Senior Certificate (Amended) Exam
  • You are allowed to change up to 4 subjects
  • You can add new subjects to your Matric Certificate (a maximum of 4)

Can I Rewrite My Matric In 6 Months?

Yes, you can, but not if you plan on rewriting most of your Matric subjects. If you only intend to rewrite a few subjects, you can complete your Matric in 6 months.

Can I Rewrite My Matric In 3 Months?

Yes, you can rewrite your Matric in three months. Although it is possible, your chances of making bigger improvements and passing well will increase if you spend more time studying and preparing for your Matric exam.

This is one of the reasons why the recommended time in which to complete a Matric Rewrite Course with us is 6 to 12 months or longer.

ICB Courses

We have a total of three (3) ICB Course Programmes, namely:

Each of our ICB Programmes have different Certificate and Diploma Courses. We will explain them in more detail below, along with the entry requirements.

ICB Financial Accounting

Here are the courses in our ICB Financial Accounting Programme:

In order to enter our ICB Financial Accounting Programme, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Have a completed Grade 10 report or Grade 10 Equivalent Certificate (NQF Level 2)
  • Be able to do your course and write your exams in English
  • Be comfortable completing your course through distance learning

Our ICB Courses build on each other. This means that you will first have to complete our Bookkeeping Certificate Courses, which will qualify you for our Financial Accounting: National Diploma Courses.

Note: You can apply for our ICB Financial Accounting Courses even if you have not taken Accounting as a subject in High School.

ICB Business Management

We offer the following courses in our ICB Business Management Programme:

Here are the entry requirements:

  • You need a Grade 10 report, Grade 10 Equivalent Certificate, or you can first complete our ICB Bridging Course
  • You need to be able to do your course in English
  • You will need to be comfortable studying via distance learning

Can I Do An ICB Course If I Have Matric?

Yes, you can! You are most welcome to apply for any of our ICB Courses if you have Matric.

A Grade 10 report is the minimum requirement for our ICB Financial Accounting and Business Management Courses. You can apply to study these courses with us if you have a higher qualification.

What Subjects Are Required For An ICB Business Management Course?

There are no specific subjects required for our ICB Business Management Courses. You can apply even if you have not done any business-related subjects in High School.

ICB Office Administration

These are the courses you can study in our ICB Office Administration Programme:

You will need to meet the following requirements in order to enrol in our ICB Office Administration Programme:

  • A Matric Certificate or Matric Equivalent Certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Be comfortable with and able to learn and study from home
  • Have the ability to do your course and write your exams in English

NATED Courses

We have seven (7) different NATED Courses available. These are aimed at equipping our students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in their careers. Upon completion of our NATED Courses, students will be awarded an accredited National Certificate or Diploma.

  6. Management Assistant Courses
  7. Marketing Management Courses

These are the entry requirements you need to meet in order to successfully enrol in a NATED Course at Matric College:

  • A Matric Certificate. Students are not able to register with a Matric Equivalent Certificate. A passed result on your Matric Certificate is essential.
  • Be at 16 years old and older
  • Have the equipment to study via distance learning
  • Be able to complete your course and write your exams in English

Short Courses

Our Short Courses are available for anyone to study. You do not need any prior qualifications to enrol in a Short Course with us, but you do need to be 16 years old or older. The ability to complete your course in English and through distance learning is, however, essential.
