Yes, you can change subjects after Matric. To do this, you can enrol at Matric College. You can apply for the Rewrite Matric Course. In this course, you have the opportunity to change up to (4) four subjects.
However, it is not mandatory that you change all (4) four subjects. You can change one, two, or three subjects. Please note that you cannot change to just any subject. You can only change to the subjects mentioned below because these are the ones we offer:

This depends on your reasons. It is a good idea to change subjects if you are doing it for your future. For example, if you are studying History and Mathematical Literacy but want to pursue a Degree in Business Administration.
A career in Business Administration may require you to change from History and Mathematical Literacy to Economics, Mathematics and Business Studies. This subject switch is good because you are doing it to prepare yourself for your desired career.
Changing subjects because you are running away from the responsibility to work hard is not a good idea. All subjects are demanding.
You will still have to work hard no matter which subjects to change for. This is why you should not change subjects because you want subjects that are less demanding.
Can I Add Pure Maths To My Matric Certificate?
Yes, you can add Pure Maths to your Matric Certificate. To do this, you need to have passed your Matric and be older than 21. You can then apply for our Matric Upgrade Course.
To pass this subject, you must write an exam that counts as 100%. You must earn at least 40% to pass this subject. When you do, you will receive a Matric Certificate with the one subject you have upgraded.

If you fail the Upgrade Matric Course, you reregister, study again and rewrite the exam.

Do Universities Accept Upgraded Marks?
Yes, universities accept students with upgraded marks. This is because they require students with the best marks. If you want to increase your chances of getting into a university, you can upgrade your marks.
However, upgraded marks do not automatically get you into university. You would still have to meet certain requirements set by the university, like your APS and have the subjects required to study the course. For example, you cannot apply for a Science Programme if you have Mathematical Literacy or Business-related subjects. You will need Mathematics, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences subjects.
If you do not qualify, you can study at Matric College. We have courses you can study with or without a Matric Qualification.
What Happens If You Fail One Subject In Matric?
Even if you fail one subject in Matric, you will still pass the class and receive your Matric Certificate. However, this only applies if the subject you failed is not your Home Language. If you fail your Home Language, you fail Matric.
How Long After Matric Can You Rewrite?
You can rewrite your Matric as soon as you see that you have failed. However, this only applies to Matric College. You can apply any time of the year. Our applications are always open. This means that you can register and start studying at any time of the year because we are a distance learning institution.
This means you will study the Rewrite Matric Course from home. We will send you the study material to your location. We will also help you register for the exams with the Department of Basic Education.
To pass the exam, you are only expected to reach at least 50%. As a result, you will be awarded a Matric Qualification.
