What are NATED courses?
National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) qualifications were created by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The purpose of these courses is to provide students with both practical and theoretical knowledge. NATED Courses are registered on the National Qualifications Frameworks (NQF) and allow students to further their education.
Looking to gain practical work experience that will set you apart from all other applicants?
Sign up for DHET’s FREE placement service either after, or during your studies! Your online profile will be matched with employers in your field who are looking for people like you to take part in Work Integrated learning (WIL) and Worplace Based Learning (WBL).
Are NATED courses accredited?
Courses are accredited once it’s been approved by a governing body like the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) or the NQF. Accreditation means the course is nationally recognised. For a course to get accreditation, it needs to meet certain requirements. Our National Qualification Programmes (NATED), in partnership with Bellview Institute of Distance Learning, are quality assured and nationally recognised. You may even choose to further your education once you’ve received your qualification.
Who is SAQA?
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is responsible for overseeing and implementing the NQF. They are also responsible for coordinating sub-frameworks and advancing the objectives of the NQF.
Will NATED courses increase my chances of getting hired?
A national qualification does not guarantee you will get the job. That includes accredited courses and even qualifications like degrees. It only increases your opportunities and gives you more options to explore in the labour market. Accredited courses are recognised nationally and could increase your chances of being considered for a job, or being invited for an interview.
