How Do I Release My Matric Results Stress?
If you are feeling stressed about your Matric results, you can try the following methods:
- Breathing techniques
- Resting your body
- Fun activities
- Spending time with family
Breathing Techniques
You can use breathing exercises to calm your body down. This will help reduce the stress you have. To do these techniques, you must first sit down or stand in a space that is open. There must be air flowing around you.
Take a deep breath in, using your nose to inhale air. Hold your breath for three seconds and release the air through your mouth slowly. Repeat this process three times. Your body should feel calm after this.
Resting Your Body
After the exam, your body is exhausted. You must release this stress and exhaustion by resting. Make sure that you sleep for about eight (8) hours every day. Your body will bounce back from the exam stress if it gets enough sleep.
You can also have afternoon naps during the day. The more rest you get, the faster you will recover. However, do not stay in bed all day, as this is not healthy. Do a few house chores to exercise your body. Within no time, you will feel refreshed and relaxed.
Fun Activities
Having fun is one of the best ways to relieve stress. Try engaging in fun activities to get your mind off things. Here are some fun activities you can try:
- Gardening
- Painting
- Playing broad games
- Swimming
Spending Time With Family
Spend your time with family. This will be good for your mind. You will get to laugh and share beautiful moments with them. Through this, your stress levels will be reduced.
Are Matric Results Important?
Yes, Matric results are important because they allow you to study at university. This is if you have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree pass and meet other requirements that the university requires.
However, as much as Matric results are important, they are not the only thing you can use to further your studies. You can study at a college with or without Matric and gain skills, knowledge and qualifications that are valued.
How Do You Deal With Disappointing Matric Results?
You deal with Matric results that are disappointing by accepting that disappointments happen in life. You did your best and this is what matters. Not everyone will be successful by going to university. Some people will be successful by studying through a college even though they never passed Matric.

What Can I Study If I Failed Matric?
If you failed your Matric, you can study at Matric College. These are the courses you can study:
Adult Matric
If you have left school for a long time, and you are 21 years or older, you can study the Adult Matric Course. This is a Matric Course that will get you ready for further studies. You will gain knowledge that will help you when you study at university or college. When you have finished this course, we will award you with a Matric Certificate.
These are the requirements of the Adult Matric Course:
- You passed Grade 9 and have proof of your report OR
- You completed a Grade 9 equivalent course (i.e. an ABET Certificate) that included two official language subjects
- You are 21 or older when you write your exams
- You can apply as early as the age of 19 and start studying
- You can read, write and understand English or Afrikaans
- You are able to study via distance learning
Rewrite Matric
You can study the Rewrite Matric Course if you failed your Matric. You will be able to prepare for your final exams using our study material and grade 12 past exam papers. When you complete the course, you will be awarded a Matric Certificate.
These are the requirements for the Rewrite Matric Course:
- An incomplete matric result; OR
- Your final matric results from Umalusi;
- You must be 21 years old when you write your first exams next year in May
- Have a Matric Certificate
- A Statement of results
ICB Course
You can study our ICB Courses even if you do not have Matric. These courses will equip you with knowledge and skills that are good for work purposes. You will receive an ICB accredited Qualification when you complete an ICB Course.

You can study the Short Courses we offer without Matric. There is no specific qualification required to study. You only need to be at least 16 years older to study. When you study a Short Course, you obtain skills that are good for work and business purposes.

You are awarded a Matric Certificate when you complete this course. These are the Upgrade Matric Course requirements:
- An incomplete Matric result or
- Your final Matric results
- Have a Matric Certificate
- A Statement of results
Passed or failed Matric results
What Can I Study With Upgraded Marks?
You can use your Matric Certificate with upgraded marks to study the NATED Courses we offer. These are courses that were created by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). NATED Courses were created to help reduce the rate of unemployment in South Africa.
NATED Courses were created with practical and theoretical components. These are good for employment because they equip you with knowledge and skills. When employers see this, they want to hire you because you are a qualified candidate.
NATED Courses are also recognised in the South African National Qualifications Framework (NQF) system. This means you can use a NATED Qualification to further your education or find employment.
