Which Courses, That Are In Demand, Can I Study?

You can study many courses at Matric College that will help you gain scarce skills. Some of which are designed by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

National Diploma (NATED) Courses

Here is a list of our NATED Courses that were designed by the DHET:

NATED Courses have both theoretical and practical components that allow students to easily find employment.

Business & Bookkeeping (ICB) Courses

Here is a list of our ICB Courses that give you scarce skills:

ICB Courses are nationally and internationally recognised. You can use your ICB Qualification and find employment abroad.

All ICB Courses are in demand, which means your employment options increase, and you can work in almost any industry.

For example, all industries need administrators, financial managers and business managers.

Why Is Practical Training Important?

Most employers in South Africa employ students that have work experience over those who have no experience at all.

This is because of the following factors:

  • Less training time. NATED Students have experience in the working environment because of the practical component. This means that employers will not have to do much training.
  • Understanding your responsibilities. Employers want to employ people that understand what they should be doing or have an idea of what they should be doing. Practical experience allows this because you have worked in your field of study.

How Can I Get Practical Training?

You can get practical training by gaining work experience in your chosen field of study. Here are the different types of practical training:

  1. Part-time or full-time employment in your chosen field of study
  2. Internships in your chosen field of study
  3. Learnerships in your chosen field of study
  4. Voluntary work in your chosen field of study
