Yes, you are able to work as a Bookkeeper without a Matric Qualification. This is possible if you study through Matric College. You can enrol for the following Bookkeeping Courses: 

The above Bookkeeping Courses build on one another. This means that you must first study the Bookkeeping: ICB National Certificate, which is the first course. When you have completed this course, you can then study the next course, which is the Bookkeeping: ICB FET Certificate

To study the Bookkeeping: ICB National Certificate, you need a Grade 10 or Grade 10 Equivalent Qualification. When you have completed this course, you will be awarded a Bookkeeping: ICB National Certificate Qualification. You can use this qualification to work as a Junior Bookkeeper

Use the Bookkeeping: ICB National Certificate Qualification you have obtained to study the Bookkeeping: ICB FET Certificate. When you have finished studying this course, you will be awarded a Bookkeeping: ICB FET Certificate Qualification. You can use this qualification to work as a Senior Bookkeeper.

Our ICB Bookkeeping Courses equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to be qualified as a Junior or Senior Bookkeeper. You can learn Bookkeeping provided you meet these requirements:

How Do I Study Bookkeeping?

  • Register as an ICB Student as shown in your registration pack
  • ICB will automatically provide you with the login details to your ICB MACCI Portal once you have registered on the ICB student portal 
  • Sign up on ICB MACCI to complete your Portfolio of Evidence (PoE)
  • Make sure you work for 50% or higher marks 
  • Complete and submit your assignments on the ICB MACCI Portal
  • Write your tests on the ICB MACCI Portal or in person 
  • To register for the final examination, complete the ICB Student Portal exam entry form
  • You can write your ICB final examination online or in person (please remember to submit and pass your PoE before the examination)

You will get awarded the Bookkeeping: ICB National Certificate from us once we have received it from ICB and FASSET
