Students are expected to complete their PoE on ICB MACCI. There is also a final examination that students must complete.

If you are a student studying through distance learning, you complete your exams online or at a physical location booked by the ICB or the college. This information was appointed by the ICB in April 2021.

Assignments and Tests

For the three (3) assignments you receive in each ICB subject for each course, you must receive 50% or higher marks to pass. You must also receive 50% or higher marks for the two(2) tests set in each subject.

Exams

There are two (2) types of exams. Online and paper-based exams. Online exams are written on the ICB MACCI portal. The time set for the online exams is 01:00 pm to 04:30 pm.

Paper-based exams are written at a location that is booked by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) or a training provider (college). Both online and paper-based exams are the same. How Can I Pass An ICB Course?

This is how you can pass ICB courses offered at Matric College:

  • Study place
  • Study routine
  • Inspiration
  • Notes
  • Study
  • Ask tutors
  • Aim high
  • Complete
  • Submit

Study Place

Find a place that can become your study area. This will help you not waste time looking for a place to study whenever you have to study. You will feel much more of a student by having a study area that you can decorate with academic items such as timetables posted on the wall.

Study Routine

A study routine is important. This is how you teach yourself to get used to studying on a daily. Having a routine means that you will study even on days you do not feel like studying.

Inspiration

Have something that inspires you to study. This can either be a list of goals you would like to achieve in your career or a picture of a person who inspires you to work hard. You will need this when you feel demotivated.

Notes

Having notes is important because they help you study. When you need to do research on a topic, you can easily open your notes and find the information you need. When tutors explain information to you, you must write it in your notebook, as it will help you when you study.

Study

Every student must study to pass a course. This is the only way you can understand your course. Studying helps you gain the knowledge that you need to answer assessments.

Ask Tutors

You have tutors available to assist you with the course assessments. Ask them questions regarding the assignments, tests and exams. They can explain chapters in your study guides that you do not understand. Make notes when they are speaking and use this when you are studying.

Aim High

To pass your course, you must aim for high marks. Aiming for high marks means you will put in the work to get high marks. This will help you create a good pass record for yourself. Good grades are valued by employers. You will help yourself have better chances of being employed.

Complete

Make sure that when you have studied, you complete all your assessments. This means writing all tests, assignments and exams.

Submit

When you have completed all your assessments, do not forget to submit them. It is important to submit your assessments in time.
