NATED courses are offered at Matric College in partnership with Bellview Institute of Distance Learning.

NATED N6 National Certificate

You can use a NATED N6 National Certificate to study further. You can study for the NATED N6 National Diploma. Once you have completed this course, you can look for employment.

NATED N6 National Diploma

The NATED N6 National Diploma is not studied formally by completing assessments such as assignments and tests. You are only required to complete 18 months of work experience to receive this qualification. Once you have completed this, you will be suitable to find employment.

You can also use both the NATED N6 National Certificate and the NATED N6 National Diploma to further your studies at Matric College. You can study for these courses:

NATED N6 National Certificate has 60 credits

How Do I Get A N6 Certificate?

You receive a NATED N6 National Certificate by studying for it. Every N6 Qualification consists of subjects. For each subject there are assessments. There are three (3) open book assignments and a final examination set by the DHET. You must pass these assessments to receive a NATED N6 National Certificate Qualification. Here are the pass marks you should aim for in your assessments:

50% and higher gives you a pass for assignments
50% and higher gives you a pass for final examinations

Once you have passed the NATED N6 National Certificate course, we send your results to the DHET who reviews the results. Once they have approved the results, they send us your NATED N6 National Certificate Qualification, and we award this to you.

Do You Graduate After N6?

Yes, you graduate once you have completed the NATED N6 National Certificate. We host graduation ceremonies through online platforms for our students who have completed their qualifications. We honour them and wish them well for their upcoming journeys.

How Do I Get A N6 Diploma?

You receive a NATED N6 National Diploma by completing 18 months of work experience. Unlike the NATED N6 National Certificate, the NATED N6 National Diploma does not have assessments. For this qualification, you are only required to complete 18 months of work experience. This is how you can complete the work experience:

Register on the iWIL website
- The iWIL website is designed by the Department of Higher Education and Training
- The purpose of the website is to help students find volunteer work where they can gain experience
Once you have registered, you will receive a job in a company at which you will complete your work experience
We will send you a logbook that you must complete throughout your work experience
- You do not have to apply for a logbook, we automatically send you one
The manager of the business overseeing your work experience must sign off the logbook
Send the logbook back to us, and we will send it to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for approval
Once the DHET has approved your logbook, they will send you your NATED N6 National Diploma

What Is An N6 Qualification Equivalent To?

The NATED N6 National Diploma and the NATED N6 National Certificate are not equivalent to other qualifications. These two qualifications are designed by the DHET for a specific purpose.
