How Do Adults Register For Matric

Here are the steps you will have to follow when applying for Adult Matric on our website:

  1. Go to the registration form
  2. Complete the application
  3. Once submitting your details, one of our Course Experts will contact you (within (3) three days of you submitting your form)
  4. Choose your matric subjects
  5. Choose the payment plan best suited for you
  6. Complete your registration over the phone
  7. You will be contacted again within (3) three days to confirm your registration
  8. When you are ready to write your exam, we will help you register at the Department of Basic Education

What Are The Adult Matric Entry Requirements At Matric College?

Here are the Adult Matric Course entry requirements:

  • A Grade 9 (ABET Level 4) Qualification
  • An NQF Qualification equivalent to the High School Grade 9 Qualification
  • Be 21 years old or older
  • Be in favour of studying through distance learning
  • Read, write and understand English or Afrikaans

Who Qualifies To Write The Adult Matric Exam?

To write the Adult Matric Exam, you need to be 21 years old or older. Although that is the case, you can apply for an Adult Matric Course with us and start studying for your exam at 18/19 years of age.

What Documents Do I Need To Submit To Register For An Adult Matric Course?

You will need to submit the following documents to complete your registration for our Adult Matric Course:

  • A certified copy of your Identity Document (ID) OR birth certificate
  • Your examination number (If you wrote any other Matric or Matric Equivalent examinations before)
  • Students that have already studied at an institute of higher learning, should attach a copy of their highest qualification.

What Subjects Can I Do As An Adult In Matric?

You can choose up to (6) six subjects to add to your Adult Matric Certificate. They are:

(2) two language subjects: 

  • 1 Home Language
  • 1 First Additional Language

(1) One Mathematics subject:

  • Mathematics
  • Mathematics Literacy

No, you cannot complete your Matric in 3 months. The recommended time to complete an Adult Matric Course is 12 to 24 months. 

When doing the course over a longer period, you will have more time to prepare and familiarise yourself with your work and practice using Grade 12 past exam papers.
