ICB: How to study for your exams

You can prepare for ICB exams by using our study materials, getting assistance from our tutors and studying daily so that you keep track of what you studied.

When you are studying for any course, you must prepare for the exams. These exams are very important because they determine whether you pass the course or not. If you do not know where to start in preparing for your ICB exams, you can look at the list below to assist you:

  • Study place
  • Study routine
  • Study material
  • Research
  • Make notes
  • Motivation
  • Study groups
  • Exam

Study Place

Have a place that is strictly for your studies. This can be the corner of your room where you have a chair and a table to study. Having a study place is good for your studies. You do not waste time looking for a study place when it is time to study.

When you know where exactly to study, you are motivated to read your books. This is easy for you because you already have your study items in one place.

Study Routine

A study routine is important when you are preparing for exams. Your mind and body get used to doing things over and over. When this happens, it starts feeling natural. If you make studying a daily routine, it will be easy because your mind and body get used to it.

A study routine where you study daily also helps you keep track of what you are studying. You will cover a lot of work in a short span of time. Every day when you study, you can have 30 minutes to revise what you have studied the previous days. This will help you remember everything you have learnt so far.

Study Material

As a student of Matric College, you have access to study materials. This is delivered to your house right after your registration. The delivery takes five to seven days to arrive at our place. The study material consists of the following:

  • Study guide
  • Textbook
  • Study calendar
  • Checklists

To prepare for your exams, you must use the study materials when studying. This is how you will gain knowledge, which you will use to answer questions in the exam.

Research

Doing research on the topics you are learning about is important. This is how you can learn in-depth about the topics. You may find extra information that is helpful in your learning. Research opens up your mind and helps you gain more knowledge that may be useful in your exam.

Make Notes

When tutors give you new information, or you learn it by yourself through the study materials or the internet, you must write it down, This is how you make notes for yourself. You will need these to study for your exams.

If you learn information by yourself that you are not sure about, you should ask your tutors to confirm it for you. Do not go into the exam with information that you are not confident about.

Motivation

When you are about to write your exams, it is normal to feel nervous, especially if you have not been doing well in your assessments. You must motivate yourself and speak positively. You can pass the exam if you work hard enough and believe you will pass.

Your past assessments do not determine what your outcomes will be. However, the exam does. You must put in all your efforts in the exams and ensure that you pass.

Study Groups

If you have a chance to join a study group, do it. This can be virtually or physically. Find other students who are studying the same course and study together. You will be able to share ideas and gain more knowledge, which will be helpful in the exam.

Exam

The last part is the exam. This is what you are preparing for. On the day of the exam, wake up very early and revise what you have learnt. Do not be nervous. Be ready for the exam an hour before it starts.

It is important to remember exam rules. Ensure to read all the instructions on the question paper so that you do not break any rules. Answer all the questions in the exam paper in detail.
