To view your May/June 2023 matric results online, simply follow these steps:

You can find your Matric results in different places. You can also use different methods to get your Matric results. This depends on whether you want to receive the results in person or online. How To Check Matric Results Online In 2022?

If you want to access your Matric results online, you can follow these steps: 

  1. Check out the Department of Basic Education (DBE) website
  2. Choose the examination results button 
  3. Press on the (NSC) exam results button 
  4. Enter your examination number as requested 
  5. Include personal details as required 
  6. Press the search button
  7. Your results will be shown 

Can I Check My Matric Results With My ID Number?

You can check your results with your ID number this way: 

  • Download the MatricsMate App on your phone (download on Google Play Store or Apple Pay Store) 
  • To access your results, you must enter your ID number and exam number 
  • You will see your results when they are available 

How Can I Get My Matric Results By SMS 2022?

These are the steps you can follow to access your Matric results via SMS: 

  1. Open the SMS option on your phone 
  2. Send your examination number to: 45865
  3. Please note that the SMS will cost you R1.50 
  4. You will receive your Matric results once they are available

How Do I Check My Grade 12 Results?

You can check your Matric results using these methods: 

  • Going to your previous High School and collecting your Matric results
  • Newspaper 
  • USSD 

Previous High School 

You can collect your Matric results from your High School. This is the High School where you wrote your Matric final examination. They will have your results available for you. This is usually available in January when the results are out. 

Newspaper 

There are some newspaper publications that published Matric results as soon as they are released by the Department of Basic Education. You can buy one of these to see your Matric results. Your personal information will not be disclosed in the newspapers to protect your identity. 

USSD

By dialling *120*45856# you can get your Matric results. You will be requested to include your personal details. Finish this process until you receive your results. Please keep in mind that the dialling code can change at any moment. 

How Do I Get My Old Matric Results?

You can access your old Matric results by doing the following: 

If you lost or damaged your old Matric results, you can make an application to receive new results. These can come in the form of a Matric Certificate or Matric statement of results. Here is how you can apply to get your old results in the form of a Matric Certificate: 

If you want to complete the above process online, you can. The same documents will be required. Here is how you can complete the process online: 

  • Register on this site: (www.eservices.gov.za)
  • Click this link to download the replacement Matric Certificate form 
  • Complete the form as needed 
  • Attach the documents required with the form 
  • Pay a fee of R153 and provide the proof of payment as part of the other documents needed (bank details can be found in the form you downloaded) 
  • Send all the documents to this address (Private Bag X895, Pretoria, 0001)

Another way to complete this online is to go through the official Umalusi application portal. You can create an account, then select which certificate you need to replace. You will need the same documents, but in digital form so that you can upload them. Once you have created your account, selected the correct certificate, and uploaded your documents, you will need to select whether you wan to collect the certificate yourself from the Umalusi offices in Pretoria, or have the certificate couriered to you. If you collect it yourself, it will cost you R137,00. If you choose to have it couriered to you, it will cost R202,00.

Please note that the process takes at least four to six weeks. 

If you want to receive your results as a statement of results, you can follow the same application process. You will pay a fee of R55.00 instead of R153.00. You do not have to wait weeks for your statement of results. The Department of Basic Education will send you the statement of results immediately through email. 

Please note that the above fees are in effect from 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.

Here is how you can complete the process on the Umalusi application portal:

  • Create an account on the application portal
  • Fill in the required details
  • Attach the documents required
  • Select whether you will collect the certificate in person from the Umalusi offices in Pretoria (this will cost R137,00) or have the certificate couriered to you (this will cost R202,00)

What Marks Are Needed To Pass Matric?

If you want to know whether you passed or failed your Matric, you can find out by knowing the marks you need to pass the Matric. Below is a list of the minimum marks you must receive to pass Matric: 

To receive the above pass levels, you must meet the following requirements: 

Requirements For A Bachelor’s Degree Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 50% in four subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 

Requirements For A Diploma Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 40% in four subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 

Requirements For A Higher Certificate Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 40% in two subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in four other subjects 

Requirements For A National Senior Certificate Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in three subjects 
  • You can fail one subject 

Will Universities Accept Lower Grades In 2023?

No, universities do not accept low marks. If you have low marks, they advise you to upgrade your Matric. Universities accept students who passed with a Bachelor’s Degree Pass because they have good marks.

However, it is not every Bachelor’s Degree Pass the university accepts. You must have excellent marks for you to be accepted. If you want to upgrade your Matric, you can apply at Matric College for the Upgrade Matric Course
