When do universities open in 2021?

Universities are expected to start their 2021 academic year in March or April next year. Motshekga says that this will ensure that students will still be able to get admitted to institutions of higher learning on time.
The Coronavirus has caused a delay in a number of educational events this year. One of those being the 2021 university academic year.
Basic Education minister Angie Motshekga says to ensure that matriculants are not compromised by the late release of the Grade 12 results, Universities in South Africa have agreed to extend the academic year to the end of February 2021.
Minister announces 2021 academic year start dates
Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, has detailed when Universities will be completing the current academic year as well when they will be starting the next.
25 Universities are set to start the 2021 academic year in March 2021 while some will start in April of 2021.
