Department of Education looking for temp teachers to help out when Covid-19 strikes

The Department of Basic Education has started advertising for unemployed qualified educators to register on their database – to ensure they can put substitute teachers in schools “during the time of Covid-19”.

Stated the post on the Department of Basic Education Facebook Page: “Are you a qualified unemployed educator eligible for temporary employment in a public school? If you answered yes, the Department of Basic Education invites you to submit your details to be registered on the National Recruitment Database.”

“The Department wants to ensure that there is a teacher in front of every classroom during the time of covid-19. Appointments will be as a substitute educator. The length of the appointment will depend on the needs of the school you are appointed in. Teachers  who get places will be remunerated according to the employment conditions of the State.”
