What is ICB Office Administration?

An Office Administration Programme equips students with the skills and knowledge of running a business office effectively. The Programme has three courses.

The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) Office Administration is a Programme of study that equips students with the skills and knowledge to run a business office smoothly. This Programme teaches some Bookkeeping and all office tasks and operations.

What Qualifications Do I Need To Work In Office Administration?

The ICB Office Administration Programme has three (3) courses that can qualify you to be an Office Administrator. These courses build on each other. Here are the courses:

Office Administration: ICB National Certificate

This is the introductory course of the Office Administration Programme. Here is what you need to study for this qualification:

Office Administration: ICB Higher Certificate

This is the intermediate course of the Office Administration Programme. Here is what you need to study for this qualification:

Does Office Administration Have Board Exam?

No, the ICB Office Administration Programme does not have a Board exam. ICB exams are run by the Institute. Here are the steps that you can take from registering with Matric College to writing your ICB Office Administration exam:

  1. Register with Matric College
  2. Register as an ICB Student
  3. Register on the ICB MACCI
  4. Register for ICB exams

Register With Matric College

Before you register with the ICB, you first need to register with Matric College. This is because you need to register with an accredited Learning Provider when you register with the ICB as a student. Matric College is an accredited learning Provider of the ICB. 

Use any one of the following method to register with Matric College:

Register As An ICB Student

Once you have registered with Matric College, you can now register as a student on the ICB Student Portal:

  • Register directly with ICB on their website
  • Fill in all the relevant details
  • Click register
  • You will now be redirected to another page where you will fill in all your personal details
  • After this, you now be able to log in with your new login details

Register On The ICB MACCI

  1. When you register as an ICB student, you will be automatically be registered for MACCI. The MACCI contains the digital Portfolio of Evidence (PoE). You will be able to do the following for each subject on the MACCI: 
  • Compete and submit your assignments
  • Write your tests
  • Write your exams

Register For ICB Exams

When you are ready to write your exams, here are the steps that you will take to register: 

  1. Submit your student details on the ICB Student Portal 
  2. Complete the exam entry form using the exam timetable
  3. Choose whether to write your exam in person or online 
    1. If online, you select an exam venue as listed
  4. You will be issued an exam admission letter

In-Person ICB Exam

In-Person ICB exams are written at allocated exam venues. You will need to present an identity document to be admitted into the exam hall. The following identity documents are acceptable:

  • A green-barcoded ID book
  • An official ID card
  • A passport

In-Person exams are written in the morning between 09:00 and 12:30. The first 30 minutes are allocated as preparation time, students are reminded about the rules and regulations that are to be followed. 

Online ICB Exam

The ICB online exams are scheduled for the afternoon between 13:00 and 16:30. The first 30 minutes are used as preparation time.
