How Does A Diploma Work?

We offer NATED and ICB Diploma courses. This is how each Diploma works:

NATED Diploma Qualification

NATED Diplomas have no theoretical assessments. They have practical assessments. You are required to complete 18 months of work experience to receive a NATED Diploma Qualification. This is how you can complete the work experience:

  • Get registered on the iWIL website
    • The iWIL website is created by the Department of Higher Education and Training
    • This website aims to help students find volunteer work where they can gain experience
  • Once you have registered, you will receive a job in a company at which you will complete your work experience
  • We will send you a logbook that you must complete throughout your work experience
    • We automatically send you a logbook, so you don’t have to request one
  • The manager of the business overseeing your work experience must sign off the logbook
  • Send the logbook back to us, and we will send it to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for approval
  • Once the DHET has approved your logbook, they will issue your NATED N6 National Diploma

Please note that logbooks are not required for the Educare course. The only thing you need is a report/letter from the Day Care Manager or Principal of the business where you completed your work experience.

ICB Diploma Qualification

ICB Diplomas are made up of assessments. These assessments come in a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE). The PoE consists of 2 tests and three assignments. For each subject in an ICB Diploma course, there is a PoE. This must be completed to pass the course.

How ICB Courses Are Assessed

What Can We Study After Diploma?

Once you have completed an ICB or NATED Diploma course, you can study the following:

  • A different NATED course

The more qualifications, skills and knowledge you have, the more chances of getting employed you have.
  • A different ICB course
There are three ICB Programmes and each one offers important skills and knowledge in a business setting. Gain another ICB Qualification will help you gain different knowledge and skills that will add on to what you already have. This will make you more prepared to work.
  • A Short course
There are many Short courses we offer. These courses can be completed in 2 to 12 months. They are great if you want to add to a qualification. They offer skills while advancing your current skills.
