Can I Study Management Assistant Without Matric?

No, you can not study the Management Assistant NATED Programme without a Matric Qualification. However, you can receive a Matric Qualification if you study the following course:

Adult Matric

This course is perfect for someone who never had the chance to complete Matric. You will be able to receive an Umalusi certificate after passing the Matric exams. 

The Requirements For Adult Matric:

  • You must have at least a Grade 9 or equivalent qualification,
  • i.e.: Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) Level 4
  • You have an incomplete Matric
  • You must be able to read, write and understand English or Afrikaans 
  • You must be 21 years or older to write the exams
  • You may sign up for the Adult Matric at the age of 19 years old, but you will only be able to write the Adult Matric exam once you are over 21

Matric Rewrite

If you have completed your exams or for some reason do not have completed results. You can apply for this course. There are some requirements you will need to meet, but nothing complex. Here are some factors you can consider:

  • Have either your complete or incomplete Matric Results
  • Rewrite the same subjects you wrote in your exams

Matric Upgrade

Much like the rewrite course, you can improve your marks by either upgrading to different subjects. Or you can choose to rewrite the same subjects. This course is ideal for those that 21 years old and older. Take a look at the following. 

  • You will need to have either your final results or incomplete results
  • You can change subjects

How Do I Get My Diploma After N6?

Once you have completed the Management Assistant NATED N6 National Certificate, you can study the Management Assistant NATED N6 National Diploma. The Management Assistant NATED N6 National Diploma is the last qualification in the NATED Management Assistant Programme. To receive this qualification, you must complete 18 months of work experience: 

  • We will send you a logbook that you must complete throughout your work experience
  • You do not have to apply for a logbook, we automatically send you one
  • The manager of the business overseeing your work experience must sign off the logbook
  • Send the logbook back to us, and we will send it to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for approval
  • Once the DHET has approved your logbook, they will send you your Management Assistant NATED N6 National Diploma
