What Does It Take To Qualify?
Here is what the process looks like, so you know what is coming before you start.
As you work through the course, you will complete short assignments along the way. At the end of each module, you will submit a test or project to show what you have learned. Everything you do — your assignments, your practical activities, your real work with children — goes into your Portfolio of Evidence. This is your full record of everything you have worked for.
When you are ready, you will sit the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) — the final assessment set by ETDP SETA. This is what makes your qualification nationally recognised across South Africa.
EISA Exam Dates
- 2 June 2026
- 29 September 2026
- 2 February 2027
One thing worth knowing — your Portfolio of Evidence takes time to build properly. Starting early gives you the space to gather real experience, complete your practical work, and walk into that final assessment feeling ready, not rushed.
