You will be assessed on completion of your Management Assistant: NATED N6 National Certificate. Here is how you will be assessed:
Assignments
There are three open-book assignments for each of your subjects. Prepare and submit the assignments in time. The minimum pass mark for your assignments is 40%.
Exams
Exams for NATED courses are held twice a year. Exams are held in May / June and October / November. Registration for the May / June exams is in February while registration for the October / November exams is in August.
NATED is an acronym for National Accredited Technical Education Diploma. NATED courses were designed by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). This was after DHET saw the need to fill a skills gap in the job market. The courses are career-oriented and they have a practical component. The following are the programmes that make up NATED courses:
NATED subjects are subjects that are studied under NATED courses. Interestingly, there are also NATED students. These are students who study NATED courses.
When you complete your Management Assistant: NATED N6 National Certificate, you will be awarded a NATED Certificate. This is because you gained your Certificate under the NATED Programme. Remember, NATED Qualifications are also known as National Qualifications.
The difference between NATED and National Certificate Vocational (NCV) is that NATED courses are courses that you can study after Matric. On the other hand, NCV courses serve as an alternative for grades 10 – 12 and are designed for students who prefer a more practical way of studying.
Each of the programmes is divided into four levels and you are certified if you complete each one of the levels. To gain your NATED Diploma, you should have completed 18 months of work experience. Here are the levels of NATED courses:
- NATED N4 National Certificate
- NATED N5 National Certificate
- NATED N6 National Certificate
- NATED N6 Nationa Diploma
National N4 Certificate
This is the start of your NATED journey. Once you have completed the National N4 Certificate course, you will be awarded an N4 Certificate. You do not have to complete your 6 months of work experience to receive your N4 Certificate.
National N5 Certificate
This is the intermediate level of a NATED Qualification. Once you have completed the National N5 Certificate course, you will be awarded an N5 Certificate. You do not have to complete your 6 months of work experience to receive your N5 Certificate.
National N6 Certificate
This is the final level of the course. Once you have completed the National N6 Certificate course, you will be awarded an N6 Certificate. You do not have to complete your 6 months of work experience to receive your N6 Certificate
National N6 Diploma
To be awarded the National N6 Diploma you must have completed 18 months work experience. You must also have a logbook signed by the Manager where you did your work experience.
Here are the options that you have to complete the 18 work experience.
- You can study theory for 18 months and then complete 18 months work experience or
- Study 18 months of theory while gaining work experience at the company you work for or
- Complete 6 months of theory and 6 months work experience at each level.
Submit your work experience logbook to Matric College and we will send it to the Department of Higher Education and Training. Once the Department approves your logbook you will be awarded your National Diploma.
