How Can I Master My Matric?

You can master your High School Matric by knowing what the class entails. You must know the minimum requirements you need to achieve to pass. You should also know the types of assessments you will have to complete. This way, you can master your Matric.

High School Matric consists of internal and external-based assessments. The internal assessments are known as the school-based assessments and the external assessments are known as the final examinations.

Your school-based assessments (SBA) contribute 25% marks in your final mark, while the final exam contributes 75% marks. The SBA marks are there to add to the marks you receive in your final exam. To pass well, you must aim for 50% or higher marks in all your Matric subjects.

How Can I Score Good Marks In Matric?

You can score good marks in Matric by doing the following: 

Study Daily 

You can study every day to gain knowledge. Studying daily will help you complete different topics in a short span of time. This will give you enough time to revise what you have studied when exams are near. 

Use Past Papers 

Using old exam question papers is the best way to score good marks in Matric. You can practise for the exam by answering the questions in the old exam papers. Use the memorandums to see how many marks you would have gotten if that had been a real exam. Practising this way will help you answer questions better and earn good grades. 

Complete Assessments 

Make sure that you complete all your assessments and do this with good marks. A good mark is 50% and above. To do this, you must make sure you pay attention in class when Teachers are teaching. Take notes which you can use to study. 

How Can I Pass Without Studying?

You cannot pass without studying. You need to study to gain knowledge. This way, you can use your knowledge to answer questions in tests, assignments and exams. This is how you can pass your Matric. 

If you do not like studying by yourself, you can do it with other students. You will be more motivated to study. You can take a break from studying by having discussions about different school topics. This is another good way to gain knowledge. 

Why Do I Forget When I Study?

You probably study and forget because you do not study consistently, or you cram instead of understanding. The best way to study and remember what you have studied is if you do it daily or at least four times a week. 

It is important to study consistently. You will be able to remember information if you revise it frequently. 

You can also study and not forget what you have studied by understanding the information. Do not cram information because It is easy to forget anything that you cram. Study until you understand what is being said. This is how you will easily remember what you have studied.

How Do You Pass Matric?

You pass Matric by obtaining one of the four Matric Pass Levels. These are: 

Bachelor’s Degree Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 50% in four subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 

Diploma Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 40% in four subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 

Higher Certificate Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 40% in two subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in four other subjects 

National Senior Certificate Pass Level 

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in three subjects 
  • You can fail one subject 

The best Matric Pass Level to obtain is the Bachelor’s Degree Pass. This pass can get you admitted to the university. Please note that your admission into the university is not automatic simply because you have passed with a Bachelor’s Degree Pass. There are other requirements you must meet to study. 

For example, you must have certain marks to be accepted into university and the course you want to study. You must meet both requirements to study. If you meet the university requirements but fail to meet the course requirements, you may be referred to a different course which you qualify for. You can then choose to study or not. 

You can choose to improve your Matric results through Matric College if they are not satisfactory to the university requirements. You can do this by studying the Upgrade Matric Course. We have tutors to assist you as you study to ensure you get the marks you want. 

When you pass this course, you will be awarded a Matric Certificate. You can then use this to study at university. 

Is 80% A Good Score?

Yes, 80% is a good score. This is known as a distinction pass in Matric, any mark between 80% and 100% is a distinction. This is a good mark which can raise your opportunity of getting into university.
