Life after Matric is good if you passed. However, if you failed Matric, you can study the rewrite Matric course at Matric College and improve your results.

Life after Matric is amazing if you have passed with excellent marks. This is because good results help you gain into university or find employment. To pass Matric with good marks, you must obtain one of the following pass levels:

Requirements For A Bachelor’s Degree Pass Level

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 50% in four subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 

Requirements For A Diploma Pass Level

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 40% in four subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 

Requirements For A Higher Certificate Pass Level

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of  40% in two subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in four other subjects 

Requirements For A National Senior Certificate Pass Level

  • A minimum of 40% in your home language 
  • A minimum of 30% in two other subjects 
  • A minimum of 30% in three subjects 
  • You can fail one subject 

We would advise that you pass with a Bachelor’s Degree Pass. This is the best pass level. By obtaining this, you increase your chances of getting into university and doping a course you desire. 

What Should I Do With My Life After Matric?

You should do the following with your life after Matric, depending on the whether you passed or failed Matric

Passed Matric

If you passed your Matric, you can do the following: 

Upgrade Matric

If you passed your Matric, that is good news. However, you may have not received the best marks. You may feel the need to improve your Matric results so that you can gain entry to university. 

You can study the Upgrade Matric Course through us. This course is a chance for you to improve your results and gain the marks you want. While you study through us, we do our best to ensure that you gain good marks. 

We have the following to assist in your studios as you upgrade your marks: 

Study At University

If you obtained a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma Pass, you may apply to university. If you have a Bachelor’s Degree Pass, you may qualify for any course, depending on the marks you have. If you have a Diploma pass, you can qualify for a Diploma, Higher Certificate and Certificate courses. 

Please note that obtaining the highest pass levels in Matric does not automatically guarantee that you will be accepted into university. You must meet the minimum requirements set by the university. 

Study At Matric College

Find Employment

You can use a Matric Certificate to find employment. Different companies have Matric career opportunities that you can apply for. Below is a list of the career positions you can find: 

  • Personal Assistant 
  • Receptionist 
  • Store Assistant 
  • Sales Representative 
  • Driver 
  • Waiter/Waitress 
  • Call Centre Agent 
  • Student Support
  • General Worker 
  • Security Officer 

Failed Matric

If you failed, you can do the following: 

Remark

You can apply for a remark and get your paper marked for a second time. This may help you gain marks. The remark method costs R104. Please note that the fee is subject to change. 

Recheck

You can apply for a recheck and get your paper checked to ensure there are no mistakes in marking. This may help you gain marks. The recheck method costs R25. Please note that the fee is subject to change. 

Rewrite Matric

You can apply for a rewrite exam. This is a final examination that can help you improve your results. This is available if you either failed or missed your last final examination. 

Redo Matric

You can study your Matric for the second time. You can go back to school and get the opportunity to start afresh. This will help you gain the marks you want because you now know what to expect. 

Study without Matric

You can use failed Matric results to study at Matric College. There are various courses that do not require Matric. These courses are good if you want to gain skills and knowledge that are good for employment and entrepreneurship. 

Where Can I Study If I Failed Matric?

If you failed Matric, you can study at Matric College. We have different courses that allow you to study without Matric. These courses help you gain skills, knowledge and qualifications that are valued in the work environment. These are the courses you can study: 

What Happens If I Fail Maths In Matric?

If you fail Maths in Matric, you may still pass Matric. You can fail one subject and pass Matric. However, we recommend that you pass all subjects well, including Maths. This is because good marks will help you gain entry into university. 

Good marks start from 50% and above. If you gain a mark of 50% and above in all your subject, you will have an amazing pass. This will be a Bachelor’s Degree Pass, which is the highest pass in Matric. 

A Bachelor’s Degree Pass can be obtained by receiving:

  •  50% in four subjects
  •  40% in your Home Language
  •  30% in two other subjects

This means that if you earn marks of 50% and higher, your Bachelor’s Degrees Pass will stand out from other Bachelor’s Degree Passes.

Is Life After Matric Hard?

No, life after Matric is not hard if you know what to do. When you have passed your Matric, you can do a lot of things. You can use your Matric Certificate to find entry-level employment. You will have a better chance of finding employment because of your qualification. 

You can also use your Matric Qualification to study at university. You can apply for the course that you want. Do keep in mind that you can study if you have met the requirements set by the university. 

You can use a Matric Certificate to apply for a learnership. This is where you learn new skills and get a salary at the same time.

Is It Good To Take A Gap Year After Matric?

Yes, it is good to take a gap year after Matric. A gap year allows you to rest your mind and body from the pressure of school. Passing Matric is a lot of work. You deserve to take a break from school for a year and refresh yourself.

A gap year is also an opportunity to advance yourself differently. Although you have taken a break from school, you can use this chance for other things. You can do the following: 

  • Apply for work 
  • Figure out what you want to study 
  • Apply to universities 
  • Apply for bursaries 
  • Advance your talent 
  • Learn a new skill 
  • Be adventurous, e.g. go on vacations 
  • Bond with family 

How Do I Know What To Study At University?

You know what to study at university based on your passion and abilities. You cannot study a course you do not feel interested in. Choose a course that relates to what you do best. If you are someone who loves children and has a passion for seeing them learn and grow, you can study a Child Care course. 

You will have a better chance of passing a course if you are passionate about it and have the ability to work on it.
