Date Published: October 13, 2020

Physical Science is probably the most difficult subject in the IEB schooling system. Its in-depth nature of mathematics, chemistry and science makes it rather difficult to grasp and fully understand.

The best way to understand and pass your physical science exam? That’s right, practice

Matric College has put together this cheat sheet to help you in achieving your physical science goals.

Past Papers

The best way to get your head around physical science is to practise every day. This is probably the last thing any student wants to do, but it’s the best way to fully comprehend your work and prepare yourself for your exams.

Practising past papers is a great way for you to get used to new questions and the exam set up as a whole. It’ll also show you which parts of your work you know, and those that need more work. There is no such thing as too much practice.

Here are the past papers for IEB Physical Science from 2017-2019.

Marking Guidelines

Marking guidelines are another great way for you to practise your physical science skills. By learning how examiners mark your work, you’re practising how to answer. The marking criteria are very similar and you’ll get used to answering in a way that gets you the marks.

Once you’ve finished a past paper, use the marking guidelines to see where you’ve gone wrong and where you can improve in answering the questions!
