Can I Write My Matric Online?
Yes, you can do your Matric online. You can do this through Matric College. We are a distance learning college, meaning you learn from home using online tools. These include our tutors, Red Alert Form, WhatsApp, and grade 12 past exam papers.
You can apply for the Adult Matric Course. This is a Matric Course which allows you to learn the same subjects that are done in High School.
To study the Adult Matric Course, you will need to complete six Matric subjects. In these subjects, you will be equipped with important skills that will allow you to further your studies. When you pass the exam, you will be awarded a Matric Qualification.
How Can I Pass Matric?
You can pass Matric by obtaining one of the following Certificate Passes:

Requirements For A Bachelor’s Degree Pass Level
- A minimum of 40% in your home language
- A minimum of 50% in four subjects
- A minimum of 30% in two other subjects
Requirements For A Diploma Pass Level
- A minimum of 40% in your home language
- A minimum of 40% in four subjects
- A minimum of 30% in two other subjects
Requirements For A Higher Certificate Pass Level
- A minimum of 40% in your home language
- A minimum of 40% in two subjects

Requirements For A National Senior Certificate Pass Level
- A minimum of 40% in your home language
- A minimum of 30% in two other subjects
- A minimum of 30% in three subjects
- You can fail one subject
Can You Fail Two Subjects In Matric?
No, you cannot fail two or more subjects in the Adult Matric Course. You can only fail one subject. If you fail two or more subjects, you will have to do a rewrite. You can apply for the Matric Rewrite Course, which allows you to rewrite the final Matric exam.
In this course, you also have an opportunity to change subjects in Matric that you may no longer want. You can change four of the subjects you have. This means you replace four subjects with new ones.
Replacing subjects may be good for you, as you could choose easier subjects or subjects that are more aligned with your interests and abilities.
At the end of the Matric Rewrite Course, you will receive a Matric Qualification from Umalusi. You can use this qualification to further your studies at university or find work after matric.
Is Rewriting Matric A Good Idea?
How Many Times Can You Rewrite Matric?
If you rewrite your Matric through Matric College, you can rewrite it as many times as possible. There is no limit as to how many times you can improve your marks. However, we ensure that you have the exam resources that can help you pass in time. These include:

Grade 12 past exam papers to help you get ready for the exam
Can I Upgrade My Matric At College?
Yes, you can upgrade your Matric marks at Matric College. We offer this course to help students improve their Matric results. This is whether they failed Matric or passed Matric their Matric. In the course, you can choose a minimum of four subjects that you want to upgrade.
You can also replace your subjects with new ones. The new subjects will be the ones you upgrade. To pass the exam for each subject, you must get 50% or higher marks. The college will award you with a Matric Certificate from Umalusi when you pass the course.
What Is Symbol “C” In Matric Results?
The symbol “C” symbolises the following in your Matric results:

Is 68% A Good Mark?
Yes, 68% is a good mark for a student in Matric. Any mark above 50% is good. However, you can always get higher marks. The highest mark is known as a distinction. This is between 80% to 100%. If you have these marks, you will have a better chance of getting into university.
Is 75% A Distinction In Matric?
No, 75% is not considered a distinction in Matric. 75% is a distinction at college or university. When you are in Matric, you must obtain 80% or higher marks to earn a distinction pass.
