How to keep yourself safe during Covid while writing an exam?

The coronavirus is still on the spread, however we have to move on with our lives, with rumors of a possible second wave, it is best to find ways to keep yourself safe.

Safety tips for returning to school during COVID-19

Here are safety regulations and tips to help you stay safe from Covid-19:

  • Maintain social distancing: Social distancing is the practice of allowing enough space between yourself and the next person. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends keeping a distance of at least 2 meters of space between yourself and people outside of your household. 
  • Wear a mask: Wearing a cloth mask is a Covid-19 safety regulation. Wearing a mask plays a huge role in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
  • Keep your hands clean
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Do not hug or touch your friends

There is no evidence that schools have a greater chance of exposing the virus

Covid-19 has caused a lot of fear and anxiety amongst school students. Even though it is important to keep yourself safe, you need to remember to stay calm. Schools are not necessarily hotspots for the coronavirus pandemic.

Debbie Schäfer, the Western Cape Minister of Education argues that the effect of Covid-19 in schools has been exaggerated. She also mentioned that a positive learner or teacher case does not mean they were infected on school premises.
