  •  The sequence of the papers will be the same for 2021 and dates will be confirmed assoon as the school calendars have been gazetted.
  •  Life Orientation Common Task (2hrs) to be done on 31 August 2020.
  •  Rewrite of Life Orientation 30 September 2020
  •  National marking standardisation meeting for Life Orientation 5 and 6 September2020.
  •  CAT and IT P1 practical to be done on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 October 2020.
  •  These are practical papers and must be treated like the practical papers of othersubjects, e.g. the services, technical subjects, arts, etc. Checking/marking of the CDsshould take place before 2 November 2020. Rewrite can then take place on26 November 2020 if folders were corrupt or not saved due to technical problems duringthe final examination.
  •  19 October to 27 November 2020 – NSC examinations
  •  Schools close for all learners (2 December) and teachers (4 December 2020).
  •  Religious holidays for Jews, Hindus, Muslims and Christians have been taken intoconsideration.
  •  This timetable has an impact on the dates for standardisation and release of results.
  •  All SBA mark sheets should be with provincial offices by 30 October 2020 readyfor capturing to start on 2 November 2020.
  •  All SBA marks should be captured by 16 November 2020.
  •  In the majority of the provinces marking can only start on 28 November and should befinished by 14 December 2020
  •  28 November to 13 December 2020: Marking of scripts .
  •  1–16 December: Capturing of marks
  •  17 and 18 December 2020: Standardisation preparation
  •  18 December 2020: NEIC meeting
  •  20 December 18:00: Technical Task Team
  •  21 and 22 December 2020: Pre-standardisation
  •  23 December 2020: Umalusi standardisation meeting
  •  24 December 2020: Adjustment process and resulting
  •  26 to 29 December 2020: Verification by officials (and principals)
  •  30 December 2020: Umalusi approval meeting
  •  31 December 2020 to 2 January 2021: Printing of statements and preparation forrelease
  •  4 January 2021: Data set transferred to USAF
  •  3–6 January 2021: Distribution of statements to schools andpreparation for press releases in provinces.
  •  Wednesday 6 January 2021: Minister releases national results 18:00
  •  Thursday 7 January 2021: Release of results by schools
  •  22 January 2020: Closing of applications for re-mark/re-check(Remarking done before 3 February 2021.Results released on 28 Feb.)
  •  1 February 2021: Closing date for applications for May/Juneexaminations.
