Matric is a high school-leaving qualification in South Africa. This is important because it is used to apply to university or entry-level employment.

Yes, you need a Matric Certificate to study. This is if you want to further your studies at university. You will need to have a Matric Certificate with a Bachelor’s Degree Pass to study. Your acceptance into university will depend on whether you meet the requirements for the university and the course you applied for.

Yes, you can do your Matric online. You can study through Matric College. We are a distance learning college that offers our courses using online resources. When you study our courses from anywhere you are, you make use of these online tools:

Rewrite Matric Course

You can study the Rewrite Matric Course. This course allows you to study if you failed Matric, You can improve your Matric results. With the Matric Certificate you earn, you can apply to university or further your studies with us. 

Adult Matric Course

You can study the Adult Matric Course. This course allows you to study for Matric if you are the age 21 or over. You gain a Matric Certificate after this course, which you can use to study further at university or find employment. 

Upgrade Matric Course

You can study the Upgrade Matric Course and improve your Matric results. This is whether you passed or failed Matric. You will gain a Matric Certificate, which you can use to apply to university and internships.

Options If You Failed Matric

These are the options you have if you failed your Matric. These options help you get a chance to receive better marks. These are the opinions you have: 

Remark

If you failed Matric, you can try the remark option. This is when your exam paper is remarked on by an examiner. They remark the paper to make sure that you are not. They mark each question thoroughly and ensure you received accurate marks. This may help you gain some marks.

Recheck

If you failed Matric, you can try the recheck option. This is when your paper is checked by an examiner. They look through your exam paper to see if some questions were not marked correctly or marked at all. They look at all questions and make sure that your marks are accurate and fair. 

View Paper

It costs R104 to do a remark and R25 to do a recheck. For the view paper, you pay R200. You can only view your paper if it has been rechecked or remarked. Please note that the fees are subject to change. 

Study Matric

If you failed Matric, you can study the class again. You are allowed to redo your Matric if you are not over 21 years old. This will help you pass because you will know what is expected. You can prepare better for your class assessments and exams. 

What Is Equivalent To Matric In South Africa?

There are various courses in South Africa that are equivalent to Matric. These courses are on the same National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level as a Matric Certificate, which is NQF level 4. At Matric College, we offer two (2) courses that are equivalent to Matric Certificate, which is the following: 

What NQF Level Is Matric?

A Matric Certificate is on National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 4. This is because the Qualification is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). When you study Matric and gain a Matric Certificate, you earn a qualification that you can use to apply for work or university.
