Courses You Can Study Without Matric

Yes, you can do Matric online. This is available at Matric College. You can study for our Adult Matric course. This is a course for adult students, ages 21 years or older, who would like to study for Matric. 

After completing the Adult Matric course, the college awards you with a Matric Certificate. This certificate is the same as the one received in high school. The only difference is that you are receiving the Matric Certificate as an adult student at a college. You will be able to use the Matric Certificate to apply to university or for employment. You can also apply for bursaries and learnerships.

Yes, you can do Matric with a Grade 9 Qualification. You can study the Adult Matric course at Matric College. These are the requirements you must meet to study:

• You passed Grade 9 and have proof of your report OR
• You completed a Grade 9 equivalent course (i.e. an ABET Certificate) that included two official language subjects
• You are 21 or older when you write your exams
  • You can apply as early as the age of 19 and start studying
• You can read, write and understand English or Afrikaans 
• You are able to study via distance learning

You can pass the Adult Matric course by doing the following:

• Study
  If you want to pass your course, you must make time to study. Students who are awarded top achievers will tell you that their secret to being the best learner was simply studying hard. If you want to pass, you must study. Make sure that your study area is always neat and this will help you feel motivated to study. 

• Write
  There are assessments in every course. To pass the course, you must pass the assessments. Ensure that you are available to write all assessments such as exams. To do well in your exams, you can use grade 12 past exam papers to study before the exams. This will help you have a better understanding of how exams are set and how to answer the questions. If you need help, our tutors are available to assist you. 

• Ask questions
  We have Tutors and Course Experts who are available when you need them. Ask them as many questions as you can regarding exams and question papers. They will help you have a better understanding of your course, and this will help you in your assessments.

If you happen to fail two subjects in Matric, you fail the class. However, you have options. You can rewrite your Matric through Matric College. We offer the Matric Rewrite Course. You can improve your Matric results. 

The best part is that you have a chance to change a minimum of four subjects. This means that if you had challenges with your previous subjects, you can change some of them. When you complete the Rewrite Matric course, you will earn a Matric Certificate.

You can improve your Matric as many times as you can. There is no limit to how many times you can improve your Matric results at Matric College.

Adult Matric

If you failed Matric a long time ago, and you are 21 years or older, you still have a chance to gain a Matric Qualification. We offer the Adult Matric course, which is for adults who want to earn their Matric. When you complete the course, you will earn a Matric Certificate, which you can use to do the following:

Apply for our NATED and ICB courses

You can use your Matric Certificate to apply to our NATED courses. These are courses created by the DHET. Studying NATED courses equips you with practical skills and knowledge. These are good qualities that employers look for in candidates, which increases your opportunities to gain employment. When you complete an entire NATED Programme, you gain a NATED Diploma.

You can also use your Matric Certificate to apply for our ICB courses. These courses are created by the ICB. When you complete an entire ICB Programme, you gain a Diploma Qualification. Studying ICB courses equips you with scarce skills and knowledge. This makes you a highly valuable candidate in front of employers.

Apply to university 

You can use your Matric Certificate to apply to university. Your acceptance, however, will depend on whether you meet the requirements that the university has set, including those of the course you have chosen.
